While we will be exploring various methods of tying, folding and masking cotton fabric for the purpose of dyeing, we will also be learning about other cultures. Respecting the culture of the fabric dyeing technique happens when we familiarizing ourselves with the history and purposes of the art form. We will be focusing on Indonesian, Japanese and American fabric dyeing and the cultures associated with it.
